7 Creative Strategies

This projected spanned about two and a half weeks. We were challenged to take an ordinary object of our choosing and put it in extraordinary scenarios. As an artist this invited me to look at the form shape and makeup of the object and then look for that same shape in the environment. We did this working with 7 creative strategies:

Combination

Juxtaposition

Isolation

Metaphor

Change of Context

Physical Similarity

Material Change

To start the method of creating it was imperative to define the meanings of the strategies and discover the uses in the professional sphere. After I had I deeper understanding of the theories, I began to brainstorm and sketch with my chosen object a measuring tape. I then took these rough sketches and produced them in Photoshop.
